UNO Faculty that I have heard from and are okay.

I have heard from or of the following UNO faculty and staff and know they are safely away from the city of New Orleans:

Bobby and Sandra Eason have retreated to Arkansas and are safe.

James Lien, Earl K. Long Library Staff member is safe and at his sister's house in Tennessee.

Tony Whitt, with the UNO Department of English, is safe in Baton Rouge. He also sent word that that Gary Richards, Jennifer Kuchta, and Kim Martin from the UNO English department are all safe. Tony said that he has spoken to all three of them in the last 48 hours. They are in Mississippi, Texas, and Florida, respectively.

Please post anyone that you have spoken to or had contact with to this list.

I have been having off and on internet access, but will try to update this blog as frequently as I can and with any information that I can get on any of my UNO co-workers.

Stay safe.

Looking for UNO Faculty and Students

I am the Engineering Librarian at the University of New Orleans. I created this blog to create a temporary forum to make sure that you are okay and have safely gotten out of the New Orleans area. Please leave a post here to let us know that you are okay or email me at wil.weston@gmail.com.

Leave your thoughts or if you are looking for someone post that here as well.

I have currently relocated to the Baton Rouge area, if there is anything that I can try to do for you let me know.

Stay safe.

Looking for UNO Librarians and Library Staff

This is Wil Weston, the engineering librarian at UNO's Earl K. Long Library. I wanted to make sure that all my co-workers have made it out of New Orleans. Please either post here or send me a email message at wil.weston@gmail.com. I have currently relocated to Baton Rouge, LA.

Unfortunately, I believe that everything that I currently own, my home, in Pass Christian, MS is gone... so, I will in all likelihood be here in Baton Rouge for a long time before I am allowed to return.

Please, let me know if you are okay.
